| |
| |
| I began to paint 35
years ago and for the last 15 years, I have devoted all
my time to painting. |
| |
| Why do I paint? |
| In my own style, I want
to record and share the beauty of life. I also enjoy the
sense of accomplishment and happiness that painting
gives me. |
| My artistic mission is
to create images that reveal the beauty of life in all
its forms, particularly those of nature in the form of
landscape paintings. |
| My preference is to work
en plein air, where I am at home, even in the winter. |
| I love being outdoors
and I am greatly inspired by the subject matter. |
| When I combine my
passion for painting with my love of the outdoors, I
become a child again - spontaneous and creative. |
| A curious child who
learns that Nature is an unlimited source for
inspiration. |
| |
| I frequently travel and
paint in all parts of Canada, the USA and occasionally
in Europe. |
| I like to paint in the
early morning and late afternoon when light is at its
best. |
| Painters I admire
include Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven. |
| These Canadian painters
and classic masters such as Corot, Monet and VanGogh
painted from nature. |
| In addition, American
greats Charles Hawthorne and Robert Henri strongly
advocated painting from nature.
|
| They all believed that
painters could best be motivated and learn most from the
natural environment. |
| |
| This approach to art is
in complete agreement with my personality and philosophy
of life, which is summarized as follows: |
| |
| ''
Life is a journey that I live one day at a time; the
important thing is to enjoy the trip.'' |
